workshops, intensives, and such
'Ello! I've been studying and performing ATS and ATS fusion for a little over 2 years now, and would really like to start going to ATS and tribal fusion workshops and intensives to further my dance technique and knowledge. I've been able to find places/dates for the more notable dancers (FCBD, Manhattan Tribal, Rachel Brice, etc...) by looking at their websites, but was wondering if some type of website existed that had a collective listing of not only major workshops and festivals, but of smaller or lesser known ones as well. A point in any direction would be much appreciative.

new Maduro album is now out!
Maduro's latest full-length album "Catching Bullets" is now out on iTunes global, Rhapsody, Amazon mp3 and other major download sites. Catching Bullets embodies the spirit of the great escape artists and magicians of the early 20th century. Catching Bullets utilizes period calliope carnivalesque progressions with dark distorted Roma accordions and violins to build a magic show, trick by famous trick, punctuated with dubstep, glitchy hip hop, breakbeats, and industrial progressions. Renowned UK electronic artist Keef Baker (n5md, Ad Noiseam, Hymen records) provides an amazing remix in this cacophony of chaos and trickery. Mastering by Eric Beam and original cover art provided by Psycho Sako Studios.

Help!

Anyone know where to find basic headpiece tutorials?

I google, and I get the Native American Headdresses, or more flapper-esque pieces...
I'm not sure how to make something that could be heavy, larger, and balance weight while staying on for dance. I know it IS possible though.

If I'm not being clear enough on what I'm looking for, let me know and I'll dig up some examples!

skirt tucking and layering
after a year of ATS dancing and performing, i have fallen madly in love with 25-36 yard skirts. i see all these wonderful troupes (fat chance, manhattan tribal, read my hips, etc...) do these amazing tucks and layers, but whenever look up information on tucking/layering the results have been basic and mediocre at best. can any of you lovely ladies share some light or suggest a website that might be of some help?
many thanks!

Tribal Dance Music
Hello lovely people!

Totally new to trying Tribal dance. Would anyone be so kind as to throw out some good Gothic/Tribal Fusion Artists, bands and or songs that I could practice/do choreography to?

The only bands I'm familiar with are Niyaz, Beats Antique (Beat Box Antique?) and Djinn.

Also, some good costuming resources that are plus size and/or carry plus sizes would be very much appreciated! I love, love, love Geisha Moth, but unfortunately she's very much out of my price range. :0(

make-up!
i am in desperate need of some advice when it comes to make-up. i've checked YouTube and found some great tips when it comes to application, though am confused on what kind of stage make-up to buy. i should first mention that i live on the gulf coast, so it's hot year round and so humid one can practically swim through it during the summer.

that being said, can anyone recommend a foundation that has great coverage, but stays put through heat, sweat, etc...
and an eyeliner that can do the dark, zoe jakes types eye or even simple tribal designs without to much effort and without running?

any make-up advice/tips would be greatly appreciated!

paddle turn
Hi Everyone!

Question: There is a turn, I believe it's a paddle turn, where the dancer is looking at the palm of her hand. It is similar to the Egyptian Double Turn. Can anyone give me directions or link me to a video? Also, if there is a cue that would be helpful info also.

As always, thanks in advance!!!
